More than $12,000 raised for couple injured in homophobic attack
Any money remaining will be donated to local LGBT organisations

More than $12,000 in donations have been raised for two men who were victims of a violent homophobic attack over the weekend.
Michael Creason and Zach Link were attacked by three men who yelled homophobic slurs and beat them as they walked through the streets of Washington DC.
Although police initially sent out an appeal looking for the three culprits, no arrests have been made so far.
However, friends have now set up a GoFundMe page to help with the medical bills for the Link who suffered a broken nose and teeth and Creason had concussion.
The original donation goal was set at $10,000 but through generous donations, the page has already beat their target within a day of setting up.

On the page, it reads: “Both will have limited income from their freelance work for an unknown amount of time.
“Medical expenses will be incurred and potential legal expenses. We have set up this fund to collect donations that will offset these expenses, so they can focus their energies on healing and not on financial stresses.
“Any funds remaining from this Go Fund Me after expenses are covered will be donated to a local DC LGBT organization. [sic]”
