Milo Yiannopoulos vows to continue being as ‘offensive as possible’ following Twitter ban

By Will Stroude

Breitbart blogger Milo Yiannopoulos has defended his recent actions on Twitter, which saw him permanently banned from the site, in a new interview in which he vows to continues being as “offensive as possible”.

Earlier this month the journalist was booted off Twitter after he was accused of initiating an onslaught of racist and sexist abuse directed at Ghostbusters actors Leslie Jones, who took herself off the site after the abuse proved too much.

Yiannopoulos, 32, who had previously complained that the ban was an attack on freedom of speech, gave an interview with CNN Money, in which he defended calling Jones a “hot black guy”. According to Yiannopoulos, this was done to protest of the body positivity, which he believes is marginalizing “traditional beauty standards”. He described his harassment as “cracking some jokes”, and described himself as being “mean” and “bitchy”.

The writer – who once protested outside the White House because Twitter took his verification tick away – said he wouldn’t “endorse” the abusive tweets sent by his followers, but added that he also wouldn’t “police” their racist and sexist attacks. He then insisted that he would tweet his own tweets again.

CNN Money’s Alison Kosik then referred to an op-ed he wrote in 2012, where he said “the internet distances us from others, and feeds the trait of sociopathy”, to which he responded that his views on the matter had “evolved”.
