A man was caught spraying a wall with ‘bash a gay today’ in spray paint in Sydney.

Two women reportedly approached the man who was spraying the wall with the homophobic phrase that incited violence against the LGBT community.

One of the witnesses also said the man had told her he had been ‘robbed by a gay man once’ and now police are investigating the graffiti which comes nearly a year after the country voted on marriage equality.

While sharing the image on Facebook, April Long wrote: “For people who think the plebiscite has solved everything in our country it has not.”
