Man and teenager guilty of raping two men

They were sentenced at Livingston High Court

By Steve Brown

A man and a teenager have been found guilty of raping two men.

Mohammed Khan, 28, and a 17-year-old Slovakian – who cannot be named for legal reasons – described themselves as “two discreet lads” on Grindr, and arranged to meet two men at their homes.

Khan, a car mechanic from Glasgow, and the teenager contacted a 30-year-old man from the Pollok area of the Scottish city, the High Court in Livingston heard.

After chatting with him on the app, they turned up at his home last September. The teenager and the man performed a consensual act between them.

However, Khan then grabbed the man by his arm and pushed him against a wall and the Slovakian pulled down his pants and raped him, the BBC report.

Their next victim was a 20-year-old student living in university halls who said he had been threatened with violence before Khan forced him to perform a sex act on him.

The teenager, as well as Afzaal Hassan, Julius Horvath, was also found guilty of attacking and attempting to rob another man.

The group arranged to meet the 40-year-old victim in an industrial estate for “sexual fun”, and when they turned up at Tradeston Industrial estate, Horvath was there and punched the man before he attempted to escape.

All three men chased him and armed themselves with poles and wood and when they caught up with the victim they started to attack him.

The four men were all found guilty after the jury took only three hours to return an unanimous verdict.

Judge Lord Uist said: “This is not a case that anyone would have volunteered to be involved in because of the sordid and distasteful evidence which we all had to listen to.”

“You have been convicted by the jury of serious offences. You may take it that those convictions will result in significant custodial sentences.”

Khan and the teenager have had they names added to the sex offenders register.
