LGBT stars and allies turn out for #Attitude300 celebrating with Three exhibition launch

The exhibition of iconic Attitude covers is free to view at London's The Hospital Club until Sunday 19 August.

LGBT stars and allies turned out in force on Thursday night (August 16) to enjoy the launch of the #Attitude300 celebrating with Three exhibition.

Figures including former Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, Strictly Come Dancing dancer AJ Pritchard and newly-announced contestant Dr Ranj Singh were among those in attendance at The Hospital Club in London’s Covent Garden.

The new free exhbititon, which is open to the public until Sunday (August 19), sees 60 of Attitude’s most iconic – and historic – covers go on display as we clebratre the release of our landmark 300th issue.

The new September issue – available to download digitially and in shops now – sees three LGBT heavyweights from the world of fashion grace the cover: British Vogue editor Edward Enninful; designer Nicola Formichetti and Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing.

It also comes with a free 68-page commemorative supplement featuring the covers on display at The Hospital Club this weekend, so even if you’re not in the capital, you still can enjoy a little piece of LGBT history.

Guests at the #Attitude300 celebrating with Three enjoyed glasses of Digby Fine English sparkling wine and Slingsby of Harrogate rhubarb-infused gin and vodka as they were given an exclusive preview of the covers including in the exhibition.

Those included the first ever issue published in May 1994, featuring Boy George on the cover, and host of other LGBT icons including Sir Elton John, George Michael, Madonna and Laverne Cox.

Attitude publisher Darren Styles, said: “Our 300th issue is a landmark, and so we are delighted to be teaming up with Three to deliver both a brilliant gallery exhibition and a special supplement to accompany the issue, awash with nostalgia and a little bit of media history.

“Everybody remembers their first Attitude, I certainly do (Marc Almond on the cover, issue 009), and the 60 covers we have picked remind us that sharing a story has the power to change the world.

Jolene Sicklemore, Head of Marketing Communications and Execution at Three, added: “We are excited to be partnering with Attitude on such a milestone issue. At Three, we encourage our customers and staff to have the freedom to explore, experience and be more. 

“At Pride we teamed up with RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Alaska to support the Attitude Foundation, and this felt like a natural next sashay for Three.”

#Attitude300 celebrating with Three runs from 17-19 August at London’s Hospital Club, Covent Garden, free to enter between 10am-6pm.
