Illinois to make LGBTQ history lessons mandatory in all schools from next year.

On Friday (August 9), Democrat Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed legislation requiring all state schools to teach US LGBTQ history lessons in a bid to curb homophobic bullying and abuse.

The legislation requires all schools to teach “the role and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the history of this country and this state”.
