Google is facing criticism for selling a homophobic game, which requires players to ‘shoot the gays’.

Ass Hunter has been available to play online since 2006, but was only uploaded to the Google Play app store on Sunday (November 23).

The game was removed from the Google Play store on Monday morning (November 24), following numerous complaints and many negative reviews.

The synopsis for the game reads: “Legendary game, where you are hunter and your mission is to kill gays as much as you can or escape between them to the next level.

“Gays may be hidden in bushes and unexpectedly catch you. Remember! When they catch you they will do with you whatever they want.”

Gamer Marcus Hamilton responded to the game, saying: “I cannot comprehend how someone could create a “game” so wilfully ignorant, hateful, vile and violent.”

Bobby Cote added: “This is uncalled for and insulting… Google should be ashamed of themselves for allowing and uploading this garbage.”

Fifi Anderson described the game as “homophobic filth”, adding: “A disgusting piece of trash Google you should be ashamed to have even published this.”
