Gay soliders’ first kiss as a married couple breaks the internet

By Will Stroude

A picture of two newly-married US servicemen sharing their first kiss as husband and husband has gone viral online, and it’s not hard to see why.

The adorable snap of Spc. Shane Adriano and Pfc. Cody Resz tying the knot in Springfield, Missouri has quickly spread after being shared on Facebook by the American Military Partner Association (AMPA), a resource and support network for the partners of LGBT service members and veterans of which both men are members.

The original post has accumulated almost 6000 likes so far.

The couple got engaged shortly after meeting last fall and married in a Springfield, Missouri courthouse last Thursday (February 11).

“I know a lot of people don’t believe in love at first sight, but sometimes you just know. That is how I felt with me and him.” Shane told the Springfield News-Leader.

Commenting on the original Facebook post, Cody thanked well-wishers for the outpouring of love and support.

“It’s a great feeling to find the one that makes you happy,” he wrote. “Thank you everyone for the kind words!”
