DaBaby apologises to those ‘truly offended’ by comments – brands everyone else ‘cry babies’
The 'Rockstar' rapper responded once again the recent controversy as he returned to stage on Sunday.

DaBaby has returned to the stage, a month after he made homophobic and offensive comments at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami.
His comments about people with HIV/Aids and gay men saw him being criticised by fellow stars including Dua Lipa and Sir Elton John and also being dropped from several live events.
The 29-year-old rapper issued several apologies on social media, with a written statement on Instagram being deleted.
“I never, ever meant to offend anybody”
At the Miami event, DaBaby said: If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two, three weeks, then put your cellphone light up.”
He also said: “Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d*** in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”
The rapper was subsequently dropped from Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival, as well as Manchester’s Parklife. He was also called out for his remarks by Dua Lipa, with who he collaborated on the remix of ‘Levitating’.
After two half-apologies, the rapper posted a more sincere-sounding apology on Instagram saying, “I apologise for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important.”
Appearing at the Hot97 Summer Jam at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday (22 August) the rapper apologised again for his comments in July, as seen in social media footage.

He said, “I never, ever meant to offend anybody or say anything to make anybody feel any type of way live on that stage a few weeks ago.”
DaBaby also thanked Hot97 – a radio station – for allowing him on stage. “Hot97 was also willing to stick they neck out on the line, willing to go against all odds with everything going on out here in the world – they still allowed me to come right here on this stage and utilise their platform.
“They helped the world move forward and become a better place and not dismiss people based off mistakes made like. We ain’t human.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the rapper performed his song ‘Cry Baby’, which was recorded with fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion, and said: “Other than the people that, you know, was truly offended, I feel like the rest of y’all motherfuckers being cry babies.”
