A cleric in Ghana says gay sex ’causes earthquakes’

By Fabio Crispim

According to Gay Star News

a cleric in Ghana has attempted to defend the rising attacks on LGBT people by saying that gay sex “causes earthquakes”.

While being interviewed for News Ghana, Mallam Abass Mahmud said, “Allah gets annoyed when males engage in sexual encounter and such disgusting encounters causes earthquakes.”

“Should we allow such a shame to continue in our communities against our holy teachings? Certainly not, and we are very happy to chase away such idiots from our Zongo communities.”

A local news station has reported that gay men have fled their homes because they were “afraid to disclose their sexual preferences for fear of attacks”.

The British Government’s travel advice for Ghana says, “Although there is a small gay community, there is no ‘scene’ and most Ghanaians don’t accept that such activity exists.”

Gay sex is illegal in Ghana and can be punishable for up to 3 years in prison.

Well, that’s a new one isn’t it?
