A touching moment to warm your heart now. The Last of Us actor, Nick Offerman, extended his thanks to his co-star, Murray Bartlett, as he collected an Emmy over the weekend.

Offerman played Bill in the post-apocalyptic thriller series based on the 2013 game of the same name. Bartlett played Bill’s partner, Frank, in one of the show’s most memorable, heartwarming, and tear-jerking episodes.

On Saturday (6 January) Offerman collected the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, a category Bartlett was also nominated in for his The Last of Us role.

Then on Sunday (7 January) Offerman shared screenshots of his acceptance speech on X, formerly Twitter. He captioned the images: “It’s hard to fully swallow because the role was in an inseparable partnership with the magnificent #MurrayBartlett so I wish they had 2 trophies to give. Without Frank, Bill ain’t shit.”

In the speech, he thanked the Television Academy for nominating him alongside the other actors in his category including “my magnificently generous partner and rightly lauded Aussie top man – the Girth from Perth – Murray Bartlett, without whom it would have been awfully tough to pull off a beautiful, richly-veined 2-hander.”

He also thanked the show’s creators and the rest of the cast, as well as the other creatives behind the scenes.

“We’ll just we’ll see what Craig [Mazin] and Neil [Druckmann] come up with”

Offerman and Bartlett appeared in The Last of Us‘ third episode, ‘Long, Long Time’. It showed Bill and Frank meeting and establishing a strong connection and romance. While being adored by many for its LGBTQ representation, the show did attract some negative criticism and was heavily review-bombed.

While the episode ends with both men dying, Offerman was asked by Deadline about the possibility of a return in the show’s second season.

“It certainly has been pitched. I think we pitched a whole mini-series of a prequel of their lives before they met each other.” Offerman then joked: “It could be a musical. We’re not short on ideas. We’ll just we’ll see what Craig [Mazin] and Neil [Druckmann] come up with.” However, he did indicate an interest in returning.

Elsewhere, Storm Reid also won for Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role in the show. The Last of Us also won for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup, Visual Effects and Main Title Design. It also won for Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and Picture Editing.

The Last of Us is streaming now.
