The Red Hot calendar gains celebrity support from Stephen Daldry and Nicola Roberts

The hottest night of the calendar year saw the likes of Hollywood film director Stephen Daldry, TV producer Charlie Parsons and Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts support the Red Hot Calendar launch.
The ‘Gaydar presents Red Hot American Boys 2019 Calendar’ launch party – which was held at L’Escargot in London’s Soho on Thursday (October 27) – saw fashion photographer and organiser of the calendar Thomas Knights gather support from the celebrities as well as Labour Lord peer Waheed Alli.
The annual Red Hot calendar is on a global mission to rebrand the ginger-male stereotype, recasting the often maligned ginger male as a hero, a heart-throb, a leading man.
The project has been in action since 2013 with five previous calendars, two coffee table books and a global touring exhibition, raising more than £55,000 for various charities including: The Diana Award, Terrence Higgins Trust, Elton John Aids Foundation, and The Anti-Bullying Alliance.
This year’s calendar raises funds for non-profit organisation Athlete Ally who believe that everyone should have equal access, opportunity, and experience in sports — regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Their mission is to end the rampant homophobia and transphobia in sport and to activate the athletic community to exercise their leadership to champion LGBTQ equality.
Photographer Thomas Knights and Art Director Elliott James Frieze selected 12 of America’s sexiest redheads from their online model search, using Instagram and Facebook to discover the hottest new talent.
The calendar was shot on location at Muscle Beach, Los Angeles, bringing together America’s hottest ginger jocks from across the United States.
The glamorous launch event took place at the world famous L’Escargot restaurant and private members club in Soho.
With it’s labyrinth of secret rooms, hallways and staircases, the 17th century townhouse was turned into an American style house-party, complete with the hottest ginger guys in the world.
