Pics | Commuters around world strip off for the No Pants Subway Ride 2016

If you were on travelling on the New York subway or London underground last Sunday (January 10) and noticed fellow commuters were missing their pants, it wasn’t because they’d forgotten to put on a load of washing that morning.

Rather, you would have been observing the official No Pants Subway event, which took place in 60 cities across the globe including Berlin, London and Japan.

The cheeky event started as a simple prank by a group of seven friends New York in 2002, and has since gone global. The event was created by trickster Charlie Todd, whose group Improv Everywhere has become notorious taking the mickey out of unsuspecting bystanders with their eye-catching brand of events.

An eyeful it certainly was, by the looks of things. Here are some of our favourite moments from No Pants Subway 2016….
