Kylie Minogue to headline Brighton and Hove Pride 2019 – Generations of Love

The amazing line-up also includes Clean Bandit

By Steve Brown

After Britney took to the stage last year, Brighton and Hove Pride needed to find someone to headline this year to match her and organisers have done just that.

With 2019 marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn uprising which ignited the Pride movement, it makes sense that Britain’s biggest Pride festival find a true icon and ally of the LGBT+ community and that person is the one and only Miss Kyle Minogue.

The singer – who has had record sales in excess of 70 million – will take to the stage as the headline act for Pride in the Park on August 3 and will mark her first ever full UK Pride performance.

With a back catalogue that includes 14 albums and singles like ‘Better the Devil You Know’, ‘Wow’, ‘Get Outta My Way’, ‘On a Night Like This’, ‘I Believe in You’, ‘Shocked’, ‘All the Lovers’ and the career-defining ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’, from soulful ballads to dance-pop anthems, Kylie has been embraced by queer fans for more than 30 years and has produced the soundtrack to many of our lives.

To add to the already stellar line-up – including Jessie J and Grace Jones who were announced to perform at Brighton Pride’s LoveBN1Fest – Brighton Pride organisers keep outdoing themselves.

Not only will Kylie be gracing the stage but the outstandingly talented Clean Bandit will also be performing on August 3.

From their origins as part of a string quartet, Clean Bandit have consistently pushed the boundaries of modern pop with a diverse blend of electronic, dancehall, classical, R&B and pop.

Breakthrough success came in 2014 with the single ‘Rather Be’, feat. Jess Glynne, a Grammy award-winning worldwide hit that has now surpassed 10 million global sales.
