2019 is officially here, and to lead us into the next 12 months are two stars who are set for their biggest years yet.

Grey’s Anatomy star Alex Landi and former RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio lead the February issue of Attitude, available to download and to order globally now.

After joining Grey’s as the ABC show’s first ever openly gay male surgeon last year, Alex Landi opens up about his hope to break down barriers in Hollywood, and the importance of LGBT and Asian representation on screen.

In a wide-ranging chat alongside a stunning new shoot on location Los Angeles, Alex reveals how life has changed since he joined the long-running medical drama, and discusses getting intimate with his co-star and onscreen love interest, US actor Jake Borelli, who himself recently came out as gay in a heartfelt post on social media.

Meanwhile, drag superstar Bianca Del Rio brings her tradebite biting wit to the cover of Attitude as she prepares to embark on the ‘It’s Jester Joke World Tour’, which includes a headline performance at London’s Wembley Arena this autumn.

In conversation with British drag icon Myra Dubois, the Hurricane Bianca star teases what fans can expect from the ‘It’s Jester Joke Tour’ as she spills the tea on the New York drag scene and reveals how childhood bullying forged her bulletproof persona.

Elsewhere in the February issue of Attitude – a new year’s travel special – we bring you cutting edge queer reports from Taiwan and the Georgian capital of Tiblisi, as well as the hottest holiday recommendations for 2019.

As Netflix prepares to release its eagerly-anticipated teen comedy drama Sex Education this month, writer Laurie Nunn and actor Ncuti Gatwa, who plays the gay student Eric on the show, reveal what’s in store for viewers.

We also meet the men behind London’s iconic LGBT bookshop Gay’s the Word as the historic establishment prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary, and catch up with RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4‘s no-less-iconic Manila Luzon.

There’s also time for a natter with rising queer star and self-proclaimed ‘grime Barbie’ Karnage Kills, and viral dancing sensation Mark Kanemura.

That’s alongside all your usual news, reviews, fashion, travel and opinion, of course. Here’s to a fierce and fun-filled 2019…
