Baga Chipz, LaLa Ri, Asttina Mandella and more to lip-sync for Attitude and Slingsby

The Drag Race stars join Cheddar Gorgeous, ShayShay, Chiyo Gomez and Barbs perform for Attitude Pride at Home, in association with Klarna.

By Will Stroude

Longstanding friend of Attitude, Slingsby Gin, has partnered with Attitude for something special this Pride season that may very well have you reaching for a shot of two of their famed premium spirits.

The great and the good of the drag community have gathered to perform exclusively for a video series that will debut on Attitude’s YouTube and social channels as part of the upcoming Pride at Home digital festival (17-27 June), in association with Klarna.

Superdrag Lip-sync, supported by Slingsby, features RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season one superstar Baga Chipz, season two sister Asttina Mandella, Drag Race US legend La La Ri, the high priestess of drag Cheddar Gorgeous, cabaret star ShayShay, agent provocateur Chiyo and London’s self-proclaimed ‘drag slag’, Barbs. And you’ll need a stiff one (gin or vodka) to hand…

Completely on brand from the off, Baga Chipz ignores the lip-sync brief and instead delivers a live rendition of Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York complete with references to Top Shop shoes and her love for Attitude magazine. We’re here for this content.

LaLa Ri is all about ‘Something Good’ by Estelle, Cheddar Gorgeous echoes the similarly hairless Jimmy Somerville with ‘Coming’ from the film Orlando and performer Chiyo is gloriously ‘Toxic’ in a way Britney might only dream of (and we’re talking the Y2K and Alexander Lewis remix, details matter).

ShayShay goes all-out in tribute to Judy Garland’s beautiful ‘Come Rain or Come Shine’, Barbs delivers a masterful ‘Excuse Me’, the Shirley Bassey masterpiece (perhaps our favourite performance), and Asttina Mandella delivers a suprise with style we live and die for.

Gin or vodka, it matters not, but grab ice and a slice and enjoy one of the highlights of Attitude’s 2021 digital festival. And bottoms up everywhere!

Superdrag Lip-sync, supported by Slingsby, is part of Attitude Pride at Home, in association with Klarna, that runs from 17-27 June at attitude.co.uk, youtube.com/attitudemag and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@attitudemag).
