A heartwarming image of a gay couple has won a London photography competition.

‘Snuggle’ by Scott Hamilton beat over 700 other entires to be named the overall winner of the ‘Love in London’ charity competition, which asked Londoners to share inspiring images of love from around the capital.

The winning photo was taken on a self-timer and depicts part-time teacher Hamilton curled up at home on the sofa with his partner. It will now be displayed on 50 billboards and advertising spaces across London.

Hamilton, who has lived in London since 2005 after moving from Edinbrugh, said of his victory: “I love the thought of spreading some happiness and joy across London and I’m really privileged that the judges chose my entry, especially since this photo means a lot to me personally.

“I think it gives a great representation of love and comfort, since the shot was taken quite naturally when we were both at home on the couch, it just felt right.
