MAFS UK viewers in tears after trans bride Ella Morgan comes out to husband Nathaniel
“It’s all about how someone makes me feel”
MAFS UK’s Ella Morgan left fans rooting for her and Nathaniel Valentino after she opened up about her transgender identity to her new husband.
The pair tied the knot in the second episode of the series, which aired on Tuesday (19 September) night.
Ella, who is Married At First Sight UK’s first-ever transgender bride, has been partnered up with Nathaniel, who identifies as pansexual.
And viewers already have high hopes for the duo after Ella got a beautiful response from her husband after coming out on-screen.
“I will fall in love with the person”
In an emotional moment during their wedding reception, she told him: “I am trans, I identify as trans. I transitioned about 12 years ago.
“Everything underneath this dress matches the inside. Have you ever dated, or have you ever met anyone trans?”
Nathaniel responded: “I have never dated a trans person,” leading Ella to ask: “Is it something that would put you off?”
“100% no, I’m pansexual. I have had boyfriends, I have had girlfriends. It’s all about how someone makes me feel,” the groom shared.
“I will fall in love with the person. If this is really you, I want to get to know you more,” he added.
Speaking to Attitude earlier this month, Ella explained why she wanted her husband to be the first to know about her identity, before any of the other contestants.
She said: “At the first dinner party I did reveal to the whole group [that I am a trans woman]. It was is the first time I’d met the brides and grooms all together.
“If this is really you, I want to get to know you more”
“I met the girls at the hen do and I decided not to say anything, because I thought out of respect for my husband, I wanted to tell him first, and I didn’t want to tell a whole group of girls before I told my husband.
“I did do a speech [in front of everyone], which was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life,” Ella added.
A teaser for tonight’s (20 September) episode has shown the husband and wife will have a row, but fans are still hopeful good things will be to come.
