La Voix is the latest celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing, withdrawing on medical advice after suffering a foot injury, forcing her to sashay away from the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

From local gay bars to Queen of the UniverseBritain’s Got TalentRuPaul’s Drag Race UK, and now Strictly Come Dancing, La Voix is no stranger to sequins – or the spotlight. Known for her signature head-to-toe ruby-red look, rib-tickling wit and flawless Liza Minnelli impersonation, she commands attention the moment she steps onstage, and Strictly was no exception.

La Voix brought light and sparkle to the season, showcasing her charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, particularly during the announcement that Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly will be leaving Strictly Come Dancing after 21 years of hosting.

She tested her presenting skills, landed near the top of the leaderboard for her couples’ choice, and left an unforgettable impression on viewers. But in the words of La Voix: “The show must go on.”

Attitude spoke to the RuPaul’s Drag Race star before the competition began. Fresh and full of energy as the first drag entertainer on the main Strictly Come Dancing programme, she discussed cruising, how she received the news she was going on the show and… parachute jumping!

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen?

Ross King in a shower cap having a spray tan! It’s something I never thought I’d witness before saying yes to Strictly

Which Strictly judge would you like to do the paso doble with?

It has to be Craig Revel Horwood. Two sharp-tongued divas together would make magic, and we could end it with a critique roast of each other immediately!

Who would you love to drag around like Ann Widdecombe?

I’m more worried about being the Ann Widdecombe. If I had to pick somebody, it would be Will Best for voting me off The Weakest Link

What’s the first rule of cruising?

The first rule of cruising is simple: never trust a man who offers you a cocktail before 10am — unless he’s also carrying diamonds and SPF 50. Oh, and pack layers!

Craziest thing you’ve seen on a cruise ship?

Vanessa Williams with a giant hose pipe spraying 5,000 gay men with water in the middle of the ocean as ‘Part of Your World’ from The Little Mermaid was playing.

What’s your biggest dream?

Firstly, to have my own chat show and, secondly, to perform in Vegas. Maybe I could combine the two and have La Voix’s Vegas Chat Show? Oh, and of course to win Strictly

First thing you do when the cameras stop rolling?

Put my slippers on. Everything I own is covered in rhinestones and my slippers are no exception. The crew at Strictly are always trying to wear them!

Who would you push overboard first on a Strictly cruise?

Whichever judge fails to give me a 10!

What’s the best advice you have ever received?

If at first you don’t succeed… a parachute jump isn’t for you.

How did La Voix receive the news she was going on Strictly Come Dancing?

I received the call while eating Saganaki in Greece and it changed my life. Not the food – the dream job offer for Strictly! It was all my years of hard graft that led me to this moment and I’m grabbing it with both hands. I’m petrified I’ll fall over in front of millions, but I hope I can learn a new skill and grow a passion to dance rather than a total fear of anything harm-related.
