By Ben Kelly

Zayn Malik has teased what could well be his debut solo single, in a post shared on his social media.

Posting in the early hours of this morning, he has implied ‘Pillowtalk’ is coming next Friday 29 January.

Speaking in a new interview this weekend with The Sunday Times

, Malik speaks at length about his solo plans, saying his first single will be about something “so pure, so dirty and raw,” adding, “Everybody has sex and it’s something people want to hear about.”

He later ‘smirks’ when asked if Simon Cowell played a hand in brokering his solo deal. “I can’t clarify anything, I don’t know,” he says.

Formed on The X Factor on 2010, One Direction have loyal fans across the world, and their Where We Are Tour was the highest grossing tour ever by a vocal group, earning $282 million in 2014. Forbes say they then $130 million in 2015.

Malik quit the boyband on 25 March 2015, saying he wanted to be a “normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
