Will & Grace 10-episode revival has a ‘very good chance’ of happening, says Mullally

By Will Stroude

There’s good news for Will & Grace fans – and, let’s be honest, the world in general – this morning: There’s “a very good chance” of a proper reunion series happening in the near future.

That’s according to show star Megan Mullally, who’s been discussing the likelihood of an official revival in a new interview with PrideSource, and teasing that it could take the form of a special 10-episode mini-series on the sitcom’s original broadcaster NBC.

Mullally, who played boozy multi-milionairess Karen Walker across all eight seasons of the hit NBC sitcom between 1998 to 2006, revealed that new episodes of Will & Grace could soon be in the offing following the success of September’s mini-reunion episode, which saw the cast reprise their roles for the first time in a decade and has since racked up more more than six and a half million views on YouTube.

“Well, OK. All I can say is that there is a very good chance that that might happen,” the 58-year-old said of an official revival.

“It’s not happening right this second. I mean, we’re not rehearsing or anything like that. But there is a very good chance that something is going to materialise.”

She added: “But can’t really talk about it or say anything, because you know how it is.”

September’s mini-reunion saw the gang meet up to discuss the US presidential election, and following Donald Trump’s eventual victory last month, Mullally believes there’d be plenty of scope for a revival to explore LGBT issues in the current political climate.

“So speaking theoretically, in a completely made-up world where Will & Grace is coming back to NBC for 10 episodes – just in that made-up world – it couldn’t be a better time”, she teased.

“I mean, it couldn’t possibly be better timing. I think more so now than even when we started!” And who would have ever – I mean, it’s heinous that it’s because Donald Trump is the president-elect. That’s just a crazy sentence that nobody would have ever thought they’d utter.

“But having said that, at the same time, that just gives us carte blanche”.

Megan, we’re holding you to it now.
