Westlife star Mark Feehily wants to be one Strictly Come Dancing but insists on having a male partner.

The out singer – who became a father with his partner Cailean O’Neill earlier this year – is looking to follow fellow bandmates Brian McFadden, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan who have all appeared on reality TV shows.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Mark said: “We were talking about Kian in the jungle. I just couldn’t do it. I know I couldn’t. I’m particularly squeamish.

Strictly is the only one with an ability attached to it. There is ability with the jungle with the challenges and working stuff out but not in the same way.

Big Brother you are just sitting around, and I don’t think I would like that. Strictly would be fun to do as I love a freestyle dance.

“It would have to be with a guy as it would feel strange for me to go with a girl. Well, it wouldn’t feel strange but why wouldn’t I do it with a guy?”

Strictly has yet to introduce same-sex dance partners despite calls from contestants and judges.

However, they have featured same-sex dance routines with the professionals and producers have promised to introduce same-sex couples next year.

The show did have around 200 complaints from viewers after they aired a dance routine between Johannes Radebe and Graziano Di Prima.
