Watch: Lorde and Disclosure debut brilliant ‘Magnets’ video

Disclosure debuted the video for their new, Lorde-fronted single Magnets yesterday – and it’s already shaping up as one of our favourites of the year.

Looking every inch the femme fatale, the 18-year-old Kiwi struts around a mansion in the Hollywood hills, cavorting with an older man. Only trouble is – he’s doing the same with another woman. This ain’t going to end well:

Perhaps anticipating criticism for the video’s violent end, Lorde used Twitter and Tumblr yesterday to explain the meaning behind the video, saying it all hinges on one quick shot of the ‘other woman’ sporting a black eye:

Magnets is the latest single lifted from Disclosure’s second album, Caracal, released this week – and looking set to top the UK charts. We’ll leave her with the last word here:
