The White Lotus’ Theo James says THAT scene was ‘toned down’ from original
“Just Theo James being the hottest man alive,” one fan tweeted after the season two premiere.
Theo James has revealed the nudity of The White Lotus season two has been “toned down,” despite giving viewers an eyeful in the show’s sophomore series.
One early scene sees the actor fully unclothed and a quick shot at… well you can guess if you haven’t already seen.
The Divergent actor has revealed that what was shown on screen was a less explicit version of the original NSFW scene.
“The initial version we shot was way too much. So, we did a more subtle version. They toned it [down],” the 37-year-old actor tells Entertainment Tonight.
He jokingly added that it is now a contract clause that he’s “not allowed to do anything without being completely naked,” adding that getting naked in front of the camera “felt natural.”
James plays Cameron Babcock in the series, a very successful businessman from a wealthy family who is vacationing with his wife Daphne (Meghann Fahy), his college roommate, Ethan (Will Sharpe), and Ethan’s wife, Harper (Aubrey Plaza).
During the premiere episode, Cameron follows Harper inside the house and changes into a new pair of swimming trunks as Harper watches through the bathroom mirror.
James went on to explain “it’s interesting, [because] at first… we don’t know whether it’s deliberate or [if] it’s accidental. But it reveals itself.”
Yes, “it” certainly reveals itself!
The actor teases that “there’s a purpose” to the nudity and his co-star Fahy notes that “it’s never arbitrary”
“It’s always character-driven. It’s always, you know, moving the [story] forward,” she adds.
“It’s funny ’cause we’re all kind of naked,” James notes. “It’s a holiday show, really.”
The White Lotus fans were left shocked about the nude moment of James’ character as the show trended on Twitter.
