‘The Eternals’ star says whole cast cried while filming Marvel Studios’ first same-sex kiss
The new film is set to be the first ever MCU film to feature an out superhero

The Eternals star says the whole cast cried while filming the first ever same-sex kiss in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Last year, Marvel Studios were reportedly actively looking for an LGBTQ actor to play a gay character in the upcoming movie The Eternals, based on the Marvel comic series written by Jack Kirby.
The Eternals – which is one of Marvel’s lesser known series – are a species of humans who were created to be the defenders of Earth, which lead to the inevitability of war against their destructive counterparts, the Deviants.
During San Diego Comic Con, the entire cast of the new MCU superheroes were revealed and includes the likes of Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani and Brian Tyree Henry.

Footage screened at CCXP 2019 has revealed that Brian Tyree Henry’s character Phastos was seen holding hands with a male partner and two kids.
And now, Haaz Sleiman, who is set to play Phastos’ husband in the new movie, has revealed the film will feature Marvel Studios’ first ever same-sex kiss.
He told Logo: “It’s a beautiful, very moving kiss. Everyone cried on set.
“For me, it’s very important to show how loving and beautiful a queer family can be.
“Brian Tyree Henry is such a tremendous actor and brought so much beauty into this part, and at one point I saw a child in his eyes, and I think it’s important for the world to be remind that we in the queer community we’re all children at one point.
“We forget that because we’re always depicted as sexual or rebellious. We forget to connect on that human part.”
