Taylor Swift sends a heartwarming letter to a gay superfan

Taylor Swift proves she really is a first-class act after posting a touching handwritten letter to a gay superfan – we like her ‘Style.’
 
Putting pen to paper, the pop superstar reached out to the devoted Swifty after hearing he had recently finished his PHD.

The lucky chap, Andrew Mooney, apologies, Dr Andrew Mooney shared a picture of the sweet note on his Twitter, notching up over 20,000 likes.

“This is EPIC!! I saw how supportive you’ve been of my music over the years and was so touched,” Swift begins.

The ‘Out Of the Woods’ singer then praised him for the ‘bravery’ he has shown in living his best life.

“I’m also so proud of you for the bravery you’ve shown in your personal life, choosing to live and love honestly even when it isn’t easy,” she continues.

Taylor, 30, adds: “I hope you’re doing well in and amongst the chaos we’re all living through right now… In these times, I think it’s important to revel in the great when we can, and this is a moment worth celebrating.”

Andrew, who completed his studies at Trinity College Dublin, tweeted his response to his music idol.

“Thank you Taylor Swift for taking the time to write me such a beautiful message,” he said. “You have been an inspiration to me for so many years and I can’t put into words how much this means to me. You have changed my life.”

Swift found her voice as an ally when she released 2019 LGBTQ anthem ‘You Need to Calm Down’, starring Todrick Hall and a roster of other queer stars.
 
Over the weekend, the American chart-topper won best director at the MTV VMAs for her song ‘The Man’.
 
Swift was the first female solo artist to collect the award. She is also only the second woman ever to win, after Melina Matsoukas for Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’ in 2016.
