Taron Egerton will read the audiobook of Elton John’s upcoming memoir, ‘Me’.

The new memoir by the iconic openly gay singer is set to be released on October 15 and will feature Egerton – who portrayed John in the hit musical biopic Rocketman – reading the audiobook version.

In a statement, the former Attitude cover star said: “Elton John is a fascinating man, at times incredibly intimidating and yet very vulnerable; I have never met anyone like him.

“I was passionate about my role as Elton in the movie Rocketman and this feels like the perfect closing chapter to the whole experience.

“I am honoured to have been asked to narrate Elton’s autobiography and I’m excited to get started.”

John will also appear on the 13-hour, unabridged audiobook of his upcoming autobiography which will be his ‘first and only’.

The book will follow his life as a singer-songwriter and his rise to fame as well as his struggles with alcohol and drugs and his road to sobriety.
