This year’s John Lewis advert has been released and it’s all about Sir Elton John.

Each year as the build up to the festive season approaches, people eagerly wait for the John Lewis advert to drop and each year, the retail giant never fails to disappoint.

Accompanied by a classic song – either performed by the original artist or a cover – each advert celebrates friendship, love and the meaning of Christmas and the new advert, which was released on Wednesday (November 14), follows the same footsteps as its predecessors.

The story begins in the present day with the iconic, gay singer sat at his piano and as he begins to play the classic hit ‘Your Song’, the story moves backwards chronologically throughout his life.

It ends with the singer waking up on Christmas morning when he received the gift of a piano which changed his life.

If this hasn’t got you in the festive spirit already – despite it only being mid-November but we aren’t complaining – then we don’t know what has.
