The singer told fans that she had “no joy” in the dating department recently as it hasn’t been “working out with men”.

Writing on her blog last week, she explained: “Having no joy anyway in the dating department. Dating site has thrown up fuck all. I’m not exactly a great prospect once they’ve googled me 😉

“I changed my ‘I am seeking a’ to ‘woman’. Just to see if I have any better luck. I notice at shows and generally life its women who want to marry me and or ‘do’ me etc.

“I been thinking for a few years anyway it ain’t really working out with men. So we’ll see what happens.”

Earlier this year, O’Connor said that she no longer believes in labels when it comes to her sexuality, after previously describing herself as 75% straight and 25% gay in 2005 – read more here.

The singer has been married four times, most recently tying the knot to Barry Herridge in 2011. She announced their split in early 2012, but the couple have reunited on a number of occasions.
