Scream’s Bex Taylor-Klaus comes out as gay

By Will Stroude

A star from Netflix’s hit US slasher-horror series Scream has come out as lesbian in a very casual way.

According to New Now Next, Bex Taylor-Klaus, who portrays sassy, bicurious filmmaker Audrey Jensen, took to Twitter on Thursday (November 17) to clear up the long-standing rumours that have circulated her sexuality.

The 22-year-old wrote: “Hello my name is Bex and yes the rumours are true, I am very gay.”

Taylor-Klaus then announced she’d be on a YouNow live stream in ten minutes time. When she appeared on the live stream, fans quickly asked her questions, with the star revealing that the timing wasn’t incidental, but was very much linked to future US president Donald Trump’s recent election.

During the live stream, a fan asked Taylor-Klaus if she was scared to come out and she revealed she was “terrified, absolutely terrified.”

“Part of why I’m coming out is because there’s so much hate and fear in and around the LGBT community right now and it’s important for us not to halt progress out of fear,” she said.

“Yes, it’s a scary time, but we need to stand up and say, even if you are afraid, I’m not afraid, or even if I am afraid, I’m strong.”

She added: “I am who I am and you can’t take that away from me.”

Having taken the plunge publicly, Taylor-Klaus later took to Twitter once more to thank them for their “love and support”.
