Sarah Jessica Parker has addressed Kim Cattrall’s absence from the upcoming Sex and the City reboot on HBO Max.

Called And Just Like That…, the 10-episode show will reunite SJP’s Carrie Bradshaw with Miranda Hobbes, played by Cynthia Nixon, and Charlotte York-Goldenblatt, played with Kristin Davies.

Cattrall, meanwhile, has for years insisted she is not interested in reprising her iconic character of maneater Samantha.

“Samantha isn’t part of this story”

Parker discussed Cattrall in her Instagram comments yesterday, after posting a video teaser of the upcoming show.

“Happy to see you back but will miss Kim/Samantha,” said a follower, to which Parker replied: “We will too. We loved her so. X.”

Replying to a similar post, she added: “[Sam] will always be there. And we are so excited. X”

Responding to speculation she “dislikes” Cattrall, Parker commented: “No. I don’t dislike her. I’ve never said that. Never would.”

“Samantha isn’t part of this story,” she added. “But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do. X.”

Sex and the City ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2003, followed by two movies in 2008 and 2010.

Parker shared yesterday’s teaser along with the caption: “I couldn’t help but wonder… where are they now? X, SJ @HBOMax@JustLikeThatMax#AndJustLikeThat #SATCNextChapter.”

Responding to a fan asking for a “timescale”, the star said: “We don’t have one yet but stay tuned and we will be certain to share all the details!!! X.’
