Russian air cadets ‘under investigation’ after twerking in their underwear in viral video

The video has caused outrage in Russia due to the country's anti-gay propaganda law

A group of Russian air cadets are under investigation after a video of them twerking in their underwear went viral.

The video was uploaded on Monday by user Aleks Jigurdinski and features over a dozen cadets twerking to DJ Benni Benassi’s 2002 hit ‘Satisfaction’ while wearing military caps, ties and leather straps.

The video also sees the men eating bananas while holding hammers and drills and thrusting to the music, reports The Mirror

It supposedly mimics the original music video for the track, which features an all-female construction crew.

According to reports, the video has now been taken down from YouTube for violating its terms of use.

The video clip appears to have angered those in charge of the cadets due to Russia’s controversial gay propaganda law, which bans the “promotion” of homosexuality in the country.

Petr Timofeev, the head of campus administration, told local publication 73online: “I honestly do not want to comment on the disgusting behavior of these cadets.

“To be honest, I myself need to sit and digest what I’ve seen. We are now dealing with this case; we are trying to evaluate everything inside and outside the school. Of course, all of this is very ugly.”

“I have been working for more than 20 years, and this is the first time I have seen anything like this. It’s so offensive. We have invested so much in these people, and this is how they behave.”

He vowed “tough checks” on the cadets and also insisted the staff who were responsible for the students would be “investigated”.

“We have already established a joint commission of the Transport Ministry and the Russian Aviation body in order to study this situation”, said the governor.

The institute currently stands as Russia’s most respected pilot training academy, and there’s huge competition throughout the country for one of its prestigious places.
