Russell Brand isn’t going to gender his baby

By Darren Mew

Russell Brand spoke out last night on The Jonathan Ross on how he plans to raise his child.

The outspoken comedian told the host that he and his girlfriend, Laura Gallagher, don’t know the gender of their baby and they are happy without knowing.

Brand said on the show: “Let the child grow up and be whatever the hell it is, never tell it there is such a concept,”

Going on to say: “We don’t know the gender, I may not even ever impose gender upon it.”

Brand has done his research for his new role of becoming a father. Admitting on the show, he has been reading a different parenting book a week, saying: “I don’t know that it has prepared me for it. I’ve painted the room, I’ve done the things that you’re supposed to do, I’ve accepted the idea that that person will be more important than me.”

As nervous as farther-to-be is he said he is liking the direction his life is going and settling down with his partner, “I am enjoying monogamy because there is a baby coming, one of them sperm finally made it, after I’d released so many, so abundantly, indiscriminate.”
