RuPaul’s Drag Race UK series two has crowned its winner

Meet Britain's Next Drag Superstar...

By Will Stroude

Warning: Spoilers follow for the final episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK series two.

After one of the most gripping, hilarious and drama-filled series in Drag Race HERstory, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK series two has finally been crowned.

At the end of it all, it was Scottish queen Lawrence Chaney who emerged victorious at the end of Thursday night’s finale episode, following in the footsteps of series one winner The Vivienne to be anointed Britain’s Next Drag Superstar.

Lawrence came out on top after a final challenge that saw the 23-year-old and fellow finalists Bimini Bon Boulash, Tayce and Ellie Diamond write and perform their own verses to RuPaul’s ‘A Little Bit of Love’.

After a final runway, Ellie Diamond was eliminated in fourth place, leading to a three-way lipsync for the crown between the remaining queens to Elton John’s ‘I’m Still Standing’.

Ultimately, it was early season frontrunner and three-time challenge winner Lawrence who found themselves with the crown and sceptre in hand, as they declared: “This is insane, incredible. Scotland babes, I brought the crown home!”

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK series two is available to watch in full on BBC Three, exclusively on BBC iPlayer.
