Ross Mathews announces engagement in emotional social media post: ‘Fiancé, you stay!’

RuPauls Drag Race star Ross Mathews has revealed his engagement to Wellington Garcia.

The TV judge made the announcement on Instagram yesterday, sharing a photo of he on his husband-to-be flashing their engagement rings.

Wonderful news!

“A lifetime of adventure awaits”

In an emotional caption, the 41-year-old said: “Fiancé, you stay! I am so proud to announce that after over a year together – navigating a pandemic, quarantine and opposite coasts – the smartest, funniest and kindest man I’ve ever met said, “Yes!”’

The star then added: “Dr. García, I love you. A lifetime of adventure awaits.”

Speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show yesterday, Ross shared the he was the one who proposed, saying: “About a year ago, I met somebody who just changed my life totally and his name’s Dr. Wellington García. He’s an educator and he’s hilarious and he’s the smartest person I’ve ever met.” 

“And you know how Beyoncé says, ‘If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it?’ Well, I did!”
