Scoops Ahoy. This is an unrivalled experience for Stranger Things superfans

By Will Stroude

For the first time, Secret Cinema has reimagined a TV show and recreated the world of cult Netflix phenomenon Stranger Things.

Did they pull it off?

It was certainly a euphoric immersive theatre experience – an unrivalled experience for Stranger Things superfans. But for fair weather fans, this one might not be for you.

Now open at a secret location in London Secret Cinema Presents Stranger Things time travels you back to the 80s and into the upside-down – in a way you will have never seen before.

The secret London location has been transformed into the suburban town of Hawkins, Indiana and it’s supernatural shadow ‘The Upside Down’. Created as an official collaboration with Netflix, the experience introduce new storylines to the series.

Though you’ll recognise the characters, locations and enjoy the riveting and spectacular retelling of your favourite Stranger Things narratives. The experience proves Stranger Things truly is a never-ending story.

Invited by Mayor of Hawkins Larry Kline, former Hawkins High pupils can expect to celebrate their annual reunion on Independence Day.

But who returns to your class’ reunion is where you really get to investigate, explore and find out more about Hawkins for the first time.

From the moment we stepped into the small town of Hawkins, Indiana last night we were hit in full 80s mania style with new storylines, characters, and even locations.

And you’ll recognize the infamous star court mall neon sign glowing from afar as you near the secret location.

How do they handle telling a three-season story that has spanned over 30 hours in just thirty minutes? In true secret cinema style, with intense climax special effects and glory.

Expect as always to pay over the odds for themed food inside the cashless experience. And as ever, you will get out as much as you put in. Make sure you head in 80s clad and be prepared to act and become a Hawkins resident as you enter the Star Court mall.

But go knowing if you are a Stranger Things fan. You’ll love visiting Hawkins, Indiana (AKA the Secret Location, London, UK).

Secret Cinema presents Stranger Things runs from Wednesday 13th November until Sunday 23rd February.
