Queer Eye’s Bobby Berk reveals season two is ‘ready to go’

The interior design expert says the second season will feature 'more diversity'

Queer Eye’s Bobby Berk has already begun teasing the show’s second season.

Netflix announced on Monday (March 26) that the reality show will be returning for a second season, but has remained tight-lipped about a premiere date.

However, it seems we may actually be closer to new episodes of the Fab 5 than we originally thought.

Speaking to Variety, interior design expert Bobby Berk revealed that the group had already filmed the next season.

When asked if there was anything the team had learnt and would apply for the new season, Berk explained: “These we actually shot right at the tail end of the first season, so they’ve already been shot and they’re already to go.

“There’s not anything we’ve learned since then because we did shoot these already.”

The 36-year-old then revealed that fans will be seeing a lot more diversity in the show’s second season, saying: “One of the things I’m most excited about for the new season is the continuation of diversity, even more so than last season.

“Without giving anything away, with our heroes, you’re going to be seeing a lot more different people than you did the first time. A lot of people have been asking, ‘Why are you just working with straight guys?’ Or we did have one gay guy. And I’m like, ‘Stay tuned for Season 2. You’ll see a lot more diversity.”

Berk also explained why he thinks it’s important the show touches on topical issues such as coming out and Black Lives Matter.

He said: “There is so much negativity in the world right now, and there’s so many people not having conversations because there’s so many people divided between the right and the left.

“Nobody is willing to listen to the other side. For us, it was really important to show and to set the example that the only way things are going to change is when two sides sit down and listen to each other.”

Queer Eye is available to stream on Netflix now.
