The end of lockdown may have been pushed back a month, but Lady Gaga is here to help boost our spirits, revealing that Years & Years’ Olly Alexander is the latest star to cover one of her most iconic songs.

The ‘Starstuck’ singer has covered Gaga’s 2011 hit ‘The Edge of Glory’ as part of the tenth-anniversary special edition of the Born This Way album.

Olly joins Kylie Minogue, Big Freedia and Orville Peck on the album, which features Gaga covers sung by artists from and advocating for the LGBTQ community.

“I’m on the edge with you”

It’s a Sin star Olly took to Twitter to announce the song today, saying, “I’m on the edge with you.”

He added on Instagram: “when @ladygaga asked me to remake her iconic track Edge Of Glory for born this way reimagined i said YES MOTHER and my paws flew into the atmosphere. i’m so happy i got to be a part of this, i hope you enjoy this version i loved making it so much.”

The modern-day version has gone down well with fans. One person thanked the Years & Years frontman, saying: “thank U for making something glorious. We’re at the edge with you”

Another couldn’t contain their excitement that the album would be released this week adding: “OMG! This song AND the new album coming soon too. It’s too much babe. Can’t cope. You are the one who is on the edge of glory!”

We can certainly relate.
