US newcomer Meghan Trainor is on course to top the UK’s Official Singles Chart this Sunday (October 5) with her debut single All About That Bass.

The track, already a Number One smash in the US, leads the midweek update from the Official Charts Company today (October 1) and is outselling its closest rival, Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s current Number One Bang Bang, by three to one.

All About That Bass  – which made chart history after it entered the UK Top 40 last week based on streaming alone – has already sold 77,000 copies and looks set to surpass 100,000 copies by the time the chart is announced at the end of the week.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off continues to hang around the UK Top Five, dropping a place from last week to sit at Number Four. South London diva Jessie Ware is set to achieve her highest ever position on the Officials Singles Chart this week, with her latest offering Say You Love Me finding itself at 17 in today’s midweek update.
