‘Magic Mike’ musical still in the works, says Channing Tatum

By Josh Haggis

Channing Tatum has insisted that the musical adaptation of Magic Mike is still in the works.

After reports first emerged of the project last year, news of further developments fell silent. However, Tatum has now revealed that the Broadway adaptation is definitely still on the cards.

He told Entertainment Weekly: “We’re getting it going. Oddly enough, the second one lends itself more to the musical. I think our original idea was to do a prequel, like how Mike got in.”

Tatum went on to shatter the dreams of gay men around the world by casting doubts on whether there will be a third film in the much-loved film franchise.

“I really don’t know. I wish I could say yeah because we have so much fun on them. I’m never gonna say never, but if we did it—because the first one is so different from the second one—I would probably just try and change it again.”
