Madonna brands Gaga a ‘copycat’ in leaked song lyrics?

Madonna brands Lady Gaga a “copycat” in lyrics she has written for her new album, according to a report in The Sun.
The newspaper claims to have obtained lyrics from two songs earmarked for the Queen of Pop’s next album – which are apparently titled Two Steps Behind Me and Heartbreak City.
The lyrics to the former concern a “wannabe” who is apparently “two steps behind” Madge. Check out the supposed lyrics as reported by The Sun below.
“You’re a copycat, Where is my royalty? You’re a pretty girl, I’ll give you that. But stealing my recipe, it’s an ugly look. Did you study me hard enough? You’re never gonna be, you’re just a wannabe me. Like a sister all messed-up, who’s gonna help you out? In your fantasy, you can try it all. But you can’t be me. You can walk the walk, even talk the talk. But you’ll always be two steps behind me.”
The other song, Heartbreak City, is said to deal with the aftermath of Madonna’s break-up from Guy Ritchie – a topic she previously wrote about on her 2012 album MDNA. Check out the supposed lyrics below.
“Cut me down the middle, f***ed me up a little. You said I was your queen. I tried to give you everything. And now you want your freedom. You got just what you came for, a bit of fame and fortune, and I’m no longer needed. You tore me into pieces, you didn’t have no damn reason. I let you in my kingdom, you helped yourself with everything. I curse the day we met. This memory is haunting me. I wish I could forget.”
Discussing Madonna’s new music, a “source” apparently told The Sun: “They’re very harsh lyrics but Madonna really wants to express herself again. Gaga’s going to be mortified. I’m hearing Madonna may well drop the first of the tracks as soon as November, much earlier than expected. I can’t wait.”
These lyrics may or may not be genuine, but Madonna has recently shared some lyrics which could appear on her new album on Instagram – take a look here.
In recent months, the Queen of Pop has used her Instagram to reveal the diverse palette of collaborators she has assembled for her next album. The list now comprises Diplo, Sky Ferreira/Haim producer Ariel Rechtshaid, Wrecking Ball co-writer MoZella, DJ/producer Avicii, former Lady Gaga collaborator Martin Kierszenbaum, cult pop singer Natalia Kills, rising British popstar MNEK, US hit-maker Toby Gad and R&B producer Symbolyc One.
Madonna’s last studio album, MDNA, was released in 2012 and reached number one in the US and UK. She scored her 13th and most recent UK chart-topping single with 4 Minutes in 2008.
