Little Mix break another Spice Girls chart record

By Will Stroude

Well, there’s one more achievement for Little Mix to add to their CV, and it’s safe to say that Perrie, Leigh-Anne, Jesy and Jade are confirming themselves as one of the biggest British girl groups of all time.

The vocal quartet had already surprised pop fans everywhere when their first album DNA scored a higher chart debut in the US than the Spice Girls, and now the girls have broken another Spice record – this time Down Under.

Little Mix are now the country’s most certified girl group of all time in Australia, after their latest single ‘Hair’ went platinum – becoming their 17th ARIA certification and surpassing the Spice Girls’ recoprd of 16.

In pop terms this only means one thing: Little Mix is now bigger than the Spice Girls – in Australia at least.

Meanwhile, the group’s third and most recent album, Get Weird, has become their biggest yet in the UK after being certified double platinum with sales of 600,000.

Talking about their next record, Jade revealed to OK! Magazine: “We’ve started working on the next album now, which is really exciting, so that should be out soon!”

Perrie added: “Hopefully there’ll be a few surprises on there, I actually cried when I heard a certain person wanted to collaborate with us… I can’t say anything yet in case it doesn’t happen, I don’t want to jinx it.”

Well then, we’ll just have to make do with the following while we wait for that particular surprise:
