Listen: X Factor winner Ben Haenow previews Kelly Clarkson duet

By Will Stroude

Ben Haenow has shared a snippet of his debut single Second Hand Heart, which sees the X Factor 2014 champ team up with pop legend Kelly Clarkson.

Haenow, who beat runner-up Fleur East to win the eleventh series of the annual singing competition last December, shared the taster on his official Twitter account earlier today (October 1) ahead of the track’s full release on October 9.

“The idea of a feature wasn’t on the cards at first but when I heard the vocals on it, I was blown away as it gave the song a whole new dimension,” Haenow previously said of the collaboration. “[Kelly Clarkson’s] voice is insane. It’s incredible.”

Clarkson – who is currently expecting her second child and was recently forced to cancel the UK leg of her Piece by Piece Tour due to vocal issues, added: “I fell in love with Second Hand Heart with the first listen. Lyrically and musically, it is right up my alley.”

Second Hand Heart is the first single lifted from Ben Haenow’s self-titled debut album, which will follow on November 13.
