Lil Nas X, It’s a Sin and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie up for GLAAD Media Awards

The full list was announced by RuPaul's Drag Race star Gottmik on Wednesday.

Lil Nas X, Demi Lovato, It’s a Sin, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and so many more outstanding artists, films, and TV shows have been nominated for the GLAAD Media Awards.

Organised by the LGBTQ media advocacy organisation the awards “honour media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues”, according to the organisation’s website. 

The nominations were announced on Wednesday (19 January) by RuPaul’s Drag Race star Gottmik. The awards will take place in Los Angeles on 2 April 2022, and in New York on 6 May 2022.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, starring Max Harwood, is up for Outstanding Film – Wide Release alongside Eternals, The Mitchells vs. the Machines, tick, tick… BOOM! and the remake of West Side Story

In the Outstanding Documentary category, there is Changing the Game, which looks at the debate over trans athletes in sport, as well as Netflix’s Pray Away, which focuses on a conversion therapy movement in the US in the 1970s.

Love, Victor, Sex Education, and Special are all up for Outstanding Comedy Series, while Pose is up for Outstanding Drama Series.

It’s a Sin and White Lotus are among the nominees for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Queer Eye and RuPaul’s Drag Race are included in the shows up for Outstanding Reality Program.

The Outstanding Children’s Programming category features the “Family Day” episode of the long-running Sesame Street, which was hailed as a “milestone episode” for featuring two gay dads and their daughter.

Demi Lovato, Sir Elton John, and Lil Nas X were always going to be up for Outstanding Music Artist for their releases in the last year and it’s lovely to see Arlo Parks recognised as an Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist.
