LGBTQ organisation Rainbow Riots team up with India’s first openly gay singer for new single – Watch
The new single stars Pragya Pallavi and conveys a powerful message of the ongoing fight for equality around the world

The LGBTQ organisation Rainbow Riots have teamed up with India’s first openly gay singer Pragya Pallavi for a brand new song.
For nearly two years, the Rainbow Riots’ founder, Swedish musician and activist Petter Wallenberg, has been in Mumbai writing and producing music for India’s LGBTQ community.
And now the upcoming album ‘Rainbow Riots India’ is part of a new movement following the decriminalisation of homosexuality in September last year.
On May 3, the new single ‘Love at First Right’ is set to be released and Attitude have an exclusive look at the single which features India’s first openly lesbian singer Pragya Pallavi.
Wallenberg said: “This song is about every human’s right to love. It’s a fundamental right often taken away from LGBT people.
“The lyrics celebrate the fact that same-sex love has been legalized in India, and also reminds people to keep on fighting.
“There is still a long way to go to reach equality. This is the first step. We all need to stick together as human beings around the world for everyone’s right to love.”
The lyrics to the song are in Hindi and English and convey a powerful message of the ongoing fight for equality around the world.
Not only has Wallenberg released the new song, the accompanying music video features Yaariyan LGBTQ Flashmob.
Pallavi added: ”The message of this single is that we are who we are, we are free to be who we are.
“We don’t have to undermine ourselves and we don’t have to be forced to do what we don’t want to do.
“India is a democratic country which means ’of the people, by the people and for the people’, so this song rightly talks about democracy.”
