Kelly Clarkson scraps UK tour on doctor’s orders

By Shaun Kitchener

Kelly Clarkson’s Piece By Piece tour will no longer swing by the UK and Ireland later this year, as the original American Idol continues to combat vocal problems.

The Heartbeat Song hitmaker was due in Dublin on November 10, Glasgow on November 12, Birmingham on the 14th, Leeds on the 16th, Manchester on the 18th and finally London’s Wembley SSE Arena on November 20.

Sadly her Canadian fans are also going without: gigs in Ottawa, Montreal, London, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Dawson Creek and Vancouver have also been cancelled.

On Facebook, she said: “I am truly sorry that I have to cancel the remainder of my tour dates. I was looking forward to sharing this tour with all my amazing fans in Canada and the UK. Unfortunately my doctor is telling me I have to stay on vocal rest, but I am working hard to get better as fast as possible.”

Kelly is also pregnant with her second child, as announced live on-stage in August.

The Piece By Piece tour came in support of her most recent album, which hit No1 in the US and the Top 10 in the UK. It officially completed her original post-Idol contract.

Get well soon, KC.
