Jonathan Bailey has landed a role in the upcoming Bridgerton series on Netflix.

Based on the novels by Julia Quinn, the new Netflix series – which is set for a 2020 release – has a stellar cast including Adjoa Andoh, Dame Julie Andrews and our favourite Jonathan Bailey.

Bailey – who won our hearts in the West End revival of Company last year – stars as eldest son Anthony Bridgerton, who is described as ‘the quintessential English nobleman’ but must learn to ‘temper his pursuit of pleasure’ if he is to create an heir.

Writing on Instagram, Bailey said: “Bridgerton family. Mega excited to be joining this juicy @byshondaland @netflix series.”

On IMDB, the series is described reads: “Wealth, lust, and betrayal set in the backdrop of Regency era England, seen through the eyes of the powerful Bridgerton family.”

The series will be produced by Shonda Rhimes, best known for her work on the likes of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, For The People and Station 19.

We are already excited for this!
