Jess Glynne criticised for claiming she was discriminated against after being turned away from a restaurant
The pop star was rejected when she rocked up wearing a hoody - and she's not a happy bunny
If there is one place Jess Glynne would, ahem, ‘Rather Be’ right now, it is most definitely not on social media.
The pop star made a real meal of it when she complained that she had experienced “pure discrimination” after being rejected from a London restaurant.
On Monday, Glynne took to Instagram to publicly let rip at staff at the posh eatery Sexy Fish, in Mayfair, for turning her away because she’d rocked up wearing a hoody.
Sharing a picture of her super-casual ensemble, the singer wrote: “Dear @sexyfishlondon I turned up to your restaurant looking like this and you looked me and my friend up and down and said no you can’t come in and your restaurant was EMPTY.”
“I then went to @amazonicolondon who greeted me and my friend with pure joy and we had a banging meal with wicked service.”
Glynne, 30, continued: “@sexyfishlondon please check yourself if this is how you treat people cause it’s rude, off putting, embarrassing and most definitely not inviting. We were made to wait and 2 members of staff came to look at us and make a decision based on our appearance.”
“I think the attitude of your staff needs to change as that was pure discrimination. Thanks and bye,” she concluded, signing off with a kiss emoji that just screamed “PASS-AGG.”
However, some struggled to stomach Glynne’s complaint, pointing out that she had confused the concept of discrimination with simply flouting a strict dress code available on the restaurant’s website.
