Janet Jackson documentary gets new trailer and UK release date
The intimate four-part series exploring the superstar's life in her own words is heading to Sky Documentaries and NOW.

An intimate new four-part documentary exploring the life of Janet Jackson is set to air in the UK at the end of the month.
Janet Jackson will premiere on Sky Documentaries and NOW on 31 January with two double bills airing over consecutive nights, Sky announced on Tuesday (18 January).
Filmed over five years with unprecedented access to Jackson, the documentary sees the musical superstar reflect on her life in her own words, candidly addressing incidents such as her infamous 2004 Superbowl ‘wardrobe malfunction’ with Justin Timberlake, allegations about her late brother Michael Jackson, and being a mother to her five-year-old son, Eissa Al Mana.
A synopsis reads: “Janet has enjoyed immense success but also seen incredible tragedy. She has endured a tumultuous private life in the face of extraordinary public scrutiny.
“With no stone left unturned, Janet Jackson lifts the lid on her private life for the very first time and reveals the most intimate moments of the star ever caught on camera.”
Janet Jackson arrives almost 40-years after the release of the star’s self-titled debut album in 1982. Jackson would go on to shift more than 100 million records, making her one of the best-selling recording artists of all time.
As well as scoring five Grammy Awards and 10 Billboard Hot 100 singles, in 2015 Jackson became just the third artist in history after Barbra Streisand and Bruce Springsteen to top the Billboard album chart in the 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s.
