James Franco: ‘I’m a little gay’

By Rhys Matthews

James Franco’s new movie King Cobra, focuses on the murder of gay porn producer Stephen, played by Christian Slater.

In a 30-second promotional clip released over the weekend, we see James Franco and Keegan Allen as gay porn star duo the Viper Boyz, working out as Franco says: “Don’t be a little bitch… No little bitches.”

Now in a new interview with Vulture, Franco has spoken about the continued focus on his own sexuality.

“I’m a celebrity, so I guess they care who I’m having sex with,” the 38-year-old says.

“If your definition of gay and straight is who I sleep with, then I guess you could say I’m a gay cock tease… Yeah, I’m a little gay, and there’s a gay James.”

Just last month, Franco admitted that he has an “obsession” with telling LGBT stories on screen – specifically the stories of gay men.

He told Rolling Stone his “artistic preoccupation” started while he was studying at NYU.

“I took classes in critical studies, and one of my favourites was on queer cinema,” he said.

“I think it’s healthy to make work that disrupts and questions that, and shows alternative narratives. That’s what an artist should do.”
